James Benedict

Jim Benedict has worked for 25 years in healthcare.  He has experience in hospital finance, hospital operations, compliance, physician practice management, and various acquisition and market alignment strategies.  He has also developed large ambulatory and integrated delivery networks.  His service has been both domestic and international, and involved settings from large academic medical centers to hospital physician joint ventures including real estate and ASCs, in both the public and not for profit healthcare sectors. His hospital management experience includes  roles as the Vice President of Medical Operations at MetroHealth, Cuyahoga County’s Safety Net hospital system, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Operations for the Case Medical Center, Senior Vice President Ambulatory Operations at University Hospitals Health System, and President of the University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center where he was part of a team that designed, developed, and activated Cleveland’s first green-field hospital  in over 30 years. 

Jim has served the Cleveland Clinic for 15 years in various roles. Most recently, he was the Executive Director, International Operations and Logistics where he supported Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Sheik Khalifa Medical City, and helped establish representative offices globally in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, London, and soon China.  He now serves as an Executive Director in the Office of Professional Staff Affairs supporting the Cleveland Clinic Chief of Staff in the development of markets regionally.

Jim obtained his BA from Baldwin Wallace University, his Masters in Accountancy and Financial Information Systems from Cleveland State, and his law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He is admitted to the Ohio Bar, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
