Baldwin Wallace's Union is the community center of the campus, serving students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. Traditionally considered the "hearthstone" or living room of the campus, the Union is viewed as the gathering place of the campus. Within the Union are facilities, services and conveniences that members of the university community need in their daily lives. Together with the various programs and activities that the Union helps facilitate, such items complement the academic experience of our students and provide an environment for getting to know and understand others through formal and informal associations.
The Union is more than just a building. It encompasses a staff that is willing to serve. Consequently, the manner in which the Union employees provide the services to the campus community within the building is viewed as importantly as the quality of the services rendered. The ultimate goal is to make all who utilize the Union feel welcome and comfortable.
An equally important mission component is the recognition that the Union environment provides an atmosphere in which student learning, growth and development may occur. Union staff members realize that their personal interaction with students can sometimes serve as a valuable contribution to a student's successful maturation process.
