FRIDAY
8:00am – 9:45am: CHECK IN
Ernsthausen Hall (Residence Hall located on the corner of Tressel Street and Center Street)
Your first stop at Orientation is Ernsthausen Hall. You will be able to pick up a packet helpful information, get keys to your room for the night, and get started on the right track for your Orientation experience. If you have parents or family members joining you, there is also information available for them to pick up including schedules, meal tickets, and more! Bring your overnight bags with you so you can drop them off in your room right away.
After you check in at Ernsthausen:
- Get your BW Student ID (You can get this at any time Friday before 4pm)
- Stop by Bonds Hall for the Open House (Pick up a raffle ticket at each table!)
10:00am – 10:30am: WELCOME (Required for All New Students)
John Patrick Theatre / Kleist Art & Drama Center (Located on Bagley Road next to Finnie Stadium)
10:30am – 11:30am: ACADEMIC CORE (Required for All New Students)

Students and families will learn about BW’s programs for academic advising and support, and will be introduced to liberal arts and the core curriculum, including our common course, Enduring Questions for an Intercultural World.
11:00am – 12:00pm: Conservatory Break Out
Conservatory Students and Families will move to one of our second floor classrooms in the Kleist Art & Drama Center to discuss the Conservatory requirements for all new Conservatory students.
11:30am – 11:50 pm: Meet with Your Color Group (Required for All New Students)
Lawn outside Kleist Art & Drama Center
New students will meet with their Summer Orientation Team Leaders for the first time.
12:00pm – 12:45pm: LUNCH

- Student Athletes: Coaches may be present to meet with you.
- Football fittings will take place prior to lunch. You can meet your coach in the Lobby of Strosacker Hall.
12:50pm: GATHER IN COLOR GROUP (Required for All New Students)

1:00pm – 2:00pm: NAVIGATING TECHNOLOGY ON CAMPUS (Required for All New Students)
Various Campus Computer Labs
Your Orientation Leaders will introduce you to the technology side of BW; exploring email, blackboard, & how to start your required Grad Plan online.
2:15pm – 2:45pm: RESPONSIBLE CHOICES (Required for All New Students)
Strosacker Union Ballroom
Start off your college career on the right foot by becoming familiar with situations in which you will have to make responsible choices.
3:00pm – 5:00pm: Break Out Sessions (Required for All New Students)

Spend your afternoon in sessions geared towards your interests as a new BW student.

4-Year Guarantee

At many universities, more than half of the students take five or six or more years to earn a bachelor’s degree. At Baldwin Wallace, we guarantee you'll graduate in four, or we'll pay the tuition for the extra time it takes you to finish. BW is offering its Graduation Guarantee as a way to help families avoid higher education costs associated with postponed graduation.
College 101: First Year Experience
Room: Sandstone 2 / Lower Level of Strosacker Union
COL 101 is a two-credit hour, graded course offered in the fall semester. It is designed to enhance the transition to Baldwin Wallace University for new, first-year students. During the course, you will be introduced to the expectations of college and familiarized with the requisite skills for success in college and beyond. Each section of COL 101 is taught by an experienced instructor who is a member of the BW faculty or staff. In addition, each section has a Course Assistant (CA). Work Study
Room: Grindstone / Main Level of Strosacker Union
If you are interested in learning more about the BW Work Study options, attend this session to understand how to apply for Work Study positions on campus and how that works with your Work Study financial package.
Financial Aid & Billing
Room: Quarry / Lower Level of Strosacker Union
Come and listen to information on Financial Aid & Billing so you can be better prepared to understand your aid package and the BW billing procedures. There will also be an opportunity for one on one time with a Financial Aid staff member on Saturday morning.

Are you interested in having a job on campus? You can stop by the Student Employment Center table to fill out the necessary paperwork.
