What is your favorite quote?
ʺInstead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don't need to escape fromʺ - Seth Godin
What was your biggest mistake as a first year student? What did you learn from that experience?
I think my biggest mistake my first year was going home too much. I still had all my best friends at home and it seemed more important at the time to focus on those relationships than to create new ones. Because of this, I missed out on a lot of opportunities getting to know people at BW. I learned from my mistake and now I try to take advantage of all the opportunities I can. Through this, I have been blessed with the best friendships I could ever ask for.
How did you choose your major?
I am in the process of changing my major to Public Relations, from Sport Management. I would still love to work in the sport industry, but decided to focus on a skill set in Public Relations rather than limiting myself to a field. However, I first came into BW undecided so I definitely support that option. It gave me the chance to take classes that interested me and decide what I am passionate about.
What has been your best experience at BW so far?
My best experience at BW so far, without a doubt, has been joining Greek Life. I came to college knowing that I wanted to join a sorority, but I never knew how much of an impact it was going to have on my life. I am surrounded everyday by women with values that align with my own, who provide me with support in all my endeavors and have become my very best friends. My organization has provided me so many opportunities I never would have thought I had and it challenges me every day to be a better person.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Student Activities Center, or the SAC. There are so many exciting activities that take place there whether it be philanthropy events, dances, Midnight-Madness or one of my favorite events of the year, Dance Marathon. It seems like whenever I'm there it is a great time!
What movie star would play the role of you in a movie? Why?
If I had to pick someone to play me in a movie I think it would be Emma Stone. We both have red hair and freckles, and I love everything she is in.
What was the best advice given to you by your parents or family members during your first year?
The best advice I received was from my older sister. She told me to take advantage of every opportunity offered to me and to always do what makes me happy.
Make the most out of every opportunity presented to you. Your college experience is truly what you make of it and BW has so many ways to get involved, as well as an amazing community that supports you along the way. You only have four years here and they will fly by so find something you’re passionate about and start making a difference!
