Ernsthausen Hall is located on East Center Street on South Campus. The building was the first residence hall in Ohio with geothermal heating and cooling, and remains one of the few in existence today. Ernsthausen houses nearly 200 students in double and single rooms, is co-educational by room and features new furniture, air-conditioning, a laundry area per floor, two vending areas and an elevator. The main lounge features a two story cathedral ceiling with a gas fireplace. There are also two more lounges on the upper floor, as well as lounges at the end of each of the eight hallways.
