Alternative Spring Break 2009 - Cherokee, North Carolina

After participating in an ASB trip to this location in 2007, site leader Allison Rossetti wanted to return. Focusing on cultural diversity and children’s issues, this group traveled to Cherokee, North Carolina and worked directly with youth at the Cherokee Boys & Girls Club. They also assisted with painting and renovations at the center. One of the highlights of this trip was to serve in a beautiful land, rich in tradition and situated in the Great Smoky Mountains. In addition to their service, the participants learned about the Cherokees, toured the area and even met the Principal Chief. Click here for pictures.
