Jacket Link Program
Jacket Link is a retention program designed to assist first-year diverse and multicultural students. The program aims to assist students in navigating their initial year of college by utilizing existing college resources. The three primary goals of the program are to:
- Increase retention of diverse and multicultural students as they matriculate toward graduation
- Improve overall satisfaction of diverse students related to co-curricular engagement
- To promote a spirit of academic excellence in the context of achieving the College's overall mission
Components of the Program include leadership, education, and peer mentoring.
Regularly scheduled workshops are provided throughout the year. Workshop topics include academic, cultural, and career preparedness.
Upper-class mentors are assigned one to two mentees. The goal of the mentor is to assist the mentee in making college related decisions and connections that are rooted in lifelong learning. Peer mentors will encourage the first year students to participate in campus events and activities at least twice a month.
