"......If someone asks me about the most unforgettable thing I achieved in my twenties, I would like to say that it was to be selected as an exchange student who could study at Baldwin-Wallace College. Though B-W has so many splendid courses and events, I wanted to share my experience of taking the course of " Freshman Experience," also named "101". This course is for American students who have just got out of high schools. In some sense, I was almost a freshman at B-W, and absolutely needed to take this course. Thanks to this course, I could get many things including getting involved in school activities to mingle with Americans and improving my English a lot........................."

I am Tuan V. Nguyen, an IMBA student from Vietnam. I have studied at B-W for one semester, but I think I have learned much more than I expected. The professors are so knowledgeable, and way they teach motivates you to study more. I firmly believe that study at B-W College is one of the stepping stones to be a successful international businessman. Moreover, what you can get from B-W College is not only knowledge but also international friendship. The Office of International Student Support Services is always in the best effort to bring students together and willing to help you whenever you need. I myself found B-W is my home away from home. It is your right choice to be at Baldwin-Wallace College.

Baldwin-Wallace College is a good place to study. I am very much impressed by the hospitality of people on campus. There are many activities for international students. Through the activities, I got to know a lot of people and developed very good relationship with them. I really enjoy studying here.

Baldwin-Wallace's size offers me the chance to study piano performance in a more personalized atmosphere and to make many precious friends. Classes are more than just lectures, we have great discussions. As a foreign student, you need to open your heart and speak in class or to your friends about your culture. They listen seriously and show some interest. There is no language barrier from Japan between you and your friends. Honestly, Baldwin-Wallace College students seem to like helping each other rather than competing. Baldwin Wallace faculty, staff and students always help you in any way possible when you are in need. So, you can feel secure all the time and can have confidence in your abilities, which lead you to success.

As a matter of fact, I come from former Eastern Germany. Before the wall came down in 1989 we could only dream to go to countries like U.S. And now, only a few years later, I have the chance to study here. I really enjoy the environment of Baldwin-Wallace College, especially the many people from all over the world I can meet here.

I came to B-W two years ago. In the past two years a lot of things happened to me, which were very precious to my life. You may have concerns about how to write papers in an American college. The Writing Lab is the right place for you to go. In addition, we also have a Learning Center which offers students tutors and professionals in learning skills. If you need any help in class, you should go to Learning Center and people will help you out. I also participated in the volunteer activities such as help women in the shelter on the east side of Cleveland. It was great experience because it is an opportunity for me to understand the society more than just campus. In my sophomore year. I join the volleyball team for B-W. It was great experience for me because I made American friends in the team. I strongly encourage you to get involved in clubs and organizations as much as possible. You will benefit a great deal from your participation.- Kelly Hargreaves

“My experience as an exchange student at Baldwin-Wallace was absolutely wonderful! I was a commuter student and so didn’t have quite the same experience as some of the students who lived on campus, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my time at B-W. The Campus is absolutely beautiful and the people are fantastic. B-W is a small enough school that you are a person and people know you by name, you are not just a random number, and that is one the things I like most about this College. I also felt that International Students Services did an exceptional job of making the new students feel welcomed and orientation week was a wonderful way for us to get to know each other and make new friends. The ongoing weekly meetings also gives us a chance to keep in touch with each other as well was to learn a little more about other cultures.
My time at Baldwin-Wallace College has been absolutely amazing and I have loved every minute… I’m only sorry that the semester has gone by so quickly.”
Wiebke Potthast from Germany“I chose Baldwin-Wallace College because of the mission to provide “Quality Education with a Personal Touch.” I never wanted to go to a ‘big’ university, but rather to a college where I knew that I would not be treated just as a number, and that is exactly what I found here at Baldwin-Wallace College.
Thanks to the help from ISS and the international student ambassadors, I quickly got adjusted to B-W and American college life in general. There are many differences, but I found it rather an experience to think about all of the differences with my home country of Germany.
For me personally, it was very interesting that the professors here at Baldwin-Wallace College want to provide everything that is possible to help their students to be successful in their studies. In my opinion, this type of professor-student relationship is quite unique.
Finally, I really enjoyed my time here at Baldwin-Wallace College and like to get to know so many new people from the United States, but also from all around the world.”
