Fraternity Recruitment - Petition to Participate
2013 Fraternity Recruitment
Petition To Participate Form
This process is available for men that DO NOT meet the requirements to participate in "Formal Recruitment", but would like to petition to participate in the process. Please fill out the first portion of the form with the personal information. Please attach a written statement about why you are requesting an expectation to the minimum 3.0 (Incoming High School First Year) or 2.5 (College) GPA requirement to participate in Formal Fraternity Recruitment.
Steps for the Petition Process:
- You should address the circumstances that resulted in your current GPA and outline steps you have taken to address any concerns for future semesters.
- You must also attach any supporting documentation you would like to be considered.
- Please attach at least one recommendation (you may have more than one).
- Please attach a resume if you have one, or you can submit a document of your involvement in high school.
Exceptions to the 3.0 or 2.5 GPA requirement are granted only in cases of extenuating circumstances. Permission to participate in recruitment does not guarantee a man will receive a bid to join a fraternity.
Petitions will be reviewed by Interfraternity Council Officers and Advisors.
Baldwin Wallace University and the Greek Life Office allows the Interfraternity Council to set their membership requirements, and their decision on any appeal is final. If an individual is accepted based on this petition, the student will then be interviewed by the IFC Council, however, an individual can be denied before the interview based on the effort put forth in the petition process.
Deadline: Petitions must be submitted through this website by Friday, September 15, 2013 by 2:00 p.m. in order to participate in Formal Recruitment.
SPECIAL NOTE:
We want to emphasis the process DOES NOT end at the completion and acceptance of the petition. IFC will view applicant and deem the circumstances extenuating enough, that they will grant an interview with the officers.
