The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Center of Cleveland - The Center is a community-based non-profit agency working toward a society free of homophobia and gender oppression by advancing the respect, human rights and dignity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.  The Center serves as a reference/help desk for the entire LGBT community, pairing callers with (216-651-LGBT or toll-free 888-GAY-8761) LGBT-affirming doctors, lawyers, therapists, support groups and more.

Many BW students have served as volunteers at The Center.  Contact The Center for volunteer opportunities.

The Trevor Project - The Trevor Project operates the nations only 24/7 suicide & crisis prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth. If you or a friend are feeling lost or alone call The Trevor Helpline. There is hope, there is help.

TransFamily - TransFamily is a support group for transgendered and transsexual people, their parents, partners, children, other family members, friends, and supportive others. They provide referrals, literature, and over-the-phone information on all transgender issues. Although TransFamily meetings are held in Cleveland, Ohio, the Internet has enabled them to extend helping hands to transgendered individuals and their families across the globe.

PFLAG - Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is an inclusive group composed of family  members, friends, and individuals who are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
PFLAG offers support, information and shared experiences to parents, siblings, spouses, and other family members and friends of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender individuals.

Campus Pride - Campus Pride represents the only national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students.

The Matthew Shepard Foundation - Provides support for diversity programs in education and helps youth organizations establish environments where young people can feel safe and be themselves.

Equality Ohio - Envisioning an Ohio  where everyone feels at home regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.

Human Rights Campaign - America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force - Promotes civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Atticus Circle - A national non-profit organization dedicated to educating and mobilizing "fair-minded straight people to advance equal rights for LGBT partners, parents, and their children."

Soulforce - Freedom from religious and political oppression for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people through the practice of relentless nonviolent resistance.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) National Youth Talkline - A program of the GLBT National Help Center - Toll-free hotline:  1-800-246-PRIDE (1-800-246-7743).  The GLBT National Youth Talkline provides telephone and email peer-counseling, as well as factual information and local resources for cities and towns across the United States.

Lambda Legal - Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV, through impact litigation, education and public policy work.

Transgender Law and Policy Institute - A non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people in our society. The TLPI brings experts and advocates together to work on law and policy initiatives designed to advance transgender equality.
