Center for Alcohol and Related Issues Education

CARE Mission & History

The mission of the Center for Alcohol & Related-issues Education (CARE) is to plan, implement, and promote educational activities which encourage the health and well-being of Baldwin-Wallace students. Further, CARE intends to provide the resources and create an environment where Baldwin-Wallace students can learn the necessary tools to take responsibility for their personal growth, development, and well-being.

The Baldwin-Wallace Center for Alcohol & Related-issues Education (CARE) was established as a result of a federal grant awarded to the College in September 1993 by the Fund for the Improvement of Secondary Education (FIPSE). During the 1996-97 and 1997-98 school years, CARE was known as the Wellness Resource Center. In 1998 the name was changed in order to reflect a clearer focus on alcohol and related issues.
