  • Any faculty or staff member (including Graduate Assistants/Interns) who serve as an advisor for a registered & recognized student organization for 2014-15
  • Positive role model
  • Help students to take responsibility for their own learning, development, and success of the organization while providing advice, support and encouragement
  • Shows dedication to, and an interest in, the student organization
  • Open to new ideas and values student input
  • Uses different and creative approaches to educating and assisting organization members
  • Makes her/himself available to organization members
  • Brings out strengths and talents of individual organization members
  • Attends organizational meetings and events
  • Previous award recipients are eligible to be nominated again, pending they meet all award criteria

  • Embodies and uplifts the values and mission of Baldwin Wallace University
  • Must be a member of a registered & recognized student organization
  • Previous award recipients are NOT eligible to be nominated again for this award

  • Served as President of a registered & recognized student organization during the 2014-15 year (Presidents of Fraternities and Sororities are not eligible)
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership, teamwork, and communication
  • Served as a role model to other executive board members and general membership
  • Was inclusive of all members and valued member input
  • Embodied and uplifted the values and mission of the organization and Baldwin Wallace University
  • Previous award recipients are eligible to be nominated again, pending they meet all award criteria

Outstanding Female Leader of the Year

Outstanding Male Leader of the Year

  • Has more than one year of leadership experience at Baldwin Wallace University
  • Has positively impacted BW through their leadership
  • Served as a positive role model for others
  • Embodies and uplifts the values and mission of BW
  • Has been able to positively balance co-curricular and curricular responsibilities
  • Though the nominee may not have a specific position/title, they have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills including (but not limited to): communication, organization, attention to detail, encouragement of others, delegation, honesty, follow through, trust, responsibility and accountability
  • Previous award recipients are eligible to be nominated again, pending they meet all award criteria

BW Student Volunteer of the Year

  • Significant amount of time spent serving the community beyond BW
  • Discernible contributions made to program(s) or organization(s)
  • Ability to relate to the populations served

OCO Volunteer of the Year

  • OCO Student Leaders are NOT eligible for this award

OCO Outstanding Leader

  • Member of OCO's 2014-15 leadership team (i.e. Alternative Break Leader, Weekly Program Coordinator, etc.)
  • Demonstrates outstanding leadership, teamwork, and communication
  • Contributions to OCO are beyond what is required in his/her specific role on the team
  • Serves as a positive role model to other OCO leaders and participants
