Helpful Hints

Who can work?

  • Preference is for a student who is registered in an undergraduate degree program on a full-time basis.  Priority is given to students who have Federal Work-Study as part of a financial aid award.  
  • Non-Work Study Students may seek employment beginning the fourth week of classes.
  • International students:  Working for the first time, must see the Director of International Student Services, before coming to the SEC.  Paperwork, which will include a copy of your I-20, Visa and Passport. will be brought to the SEC for completion.

  What employment forms must I fill out before I can  work?

  • If you worked on campus before, the SEC has your tax forms on file.  They will remain on file until graduation.
  • If you have never worked on campus before, you must come to the SEC to fill out Employment forms.  The most common forms to be used as verification for the I-9 form are a non-expired passport, State-issued Driver's License and  the original Social Security card, or an Original or Certified copy of the Birth Certificate (must include an official seal).  Complete instructions will be found on Page 1, 2 and Page 9 of the I-9 form information.
  • You must sign a SEC requisition form that has been completed by your supervisor.

How and when am I paid?

  • Students log into Enterprise eTIME through an internet browser using the Time stamp method.  PC's are located throughout the campus, to record their in and out time.  
  • Payday is every other Friday.  Pay periods are two weeks long, beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday.  Your supervisor can provide you with a payroll schedule/2012/2013. 
  • All students are paid via Direct Deposit
  • Deposit Net pay into your BW Billing/Tuition Account.
  • Deposit Net pay into your Bank Checking/Savings Account. 
 
What if there are problems with my check?
  • Problems with the hours on the paycheck, see your Supervisor as soon as possible.  Please don't wait.
  • To prevent this problems with your check, print out a copy of your timecard.  Your supervisor can show you how to do this.  Make sure you notify him/her of any discrepancies immediately.
  • For direct deposit problems, please visit the SEC (2nd floor in the Bonds Administration Building, Room 211).

  • Students are responsible for finding their own job on campus.  Click here for available Job Listings on campus. 
  • Non Work-study Students should not work over 10 hours a week during the academic year and may not start working until the fourth week of the academic year.
  • Federal Work-study Students should not work over the # of hours designated by their award.  (Your supervisor can provide you with this information by checking the Colleague system)
  • International students may not work more than 20 hours a week.
  • NO STUDENT, DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR, SHOULD WORK OVER 20 HOURS A WEEK.
  • All students are not to work over 40 hours a week during breaks.
  • Students should report to work on time.  If you know you are going to be late or cannot work, make sure you notify your supervisor.
