This course provides an introduction to networking and the basic networking building blocks. Course will cover network hardware and software including cabling, network models and standards, protocols and topologies. A brief view of the Internet and emerging technologies will be covered including wireless technology, web conferencing, document sharing, and Internet security. The course will also cover the following practical skills: installing local and network printer drives (and downloading drivers from the Internet), checking a computer’s hardware resources, software version control and updates, Internet browser advanced settings, and disk maintenance (virus scan, defrag, scandisk, removing temp files).
