STUDENTS MUST BE OF AT LEAST SOPHOMORE STATUS AND ENROLLED IN THE HONORS PROGRAM, OR HAVE AT LEAST SOPHOMORE STATUS AND A GPA OF AT LEAST 3.5. LAB INCLUDED. THE GOODS AND TECHNOLOGIES HUMANKIND ACCUMULATES, AND MANY OF OUR CULTURAL AND POLITICAL PERSPECTIVES ARE BASED ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF EARTH’S MATERIALS. IN THIS COURSE WE WANT THE STUDENTS TO RECOGNIZE THESE CONNECTIONS BY FOCUSING ON WHAT ROLE EARTH’S RESOURCES PLAYED IN GEOLOGY, HISTORY, AND ART.

THIS 8-DAY TRIP TO ICELAND WILL BE LEAD BY DR. NANCY GLASS. THIS STUDY TOUR WILL INVESTIGATE THE DYNAMIC, MULTIFACETED GEOLOGY AND CULTURE OF THIS UNIQUE ISLAND IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC. APPLICATION AND NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE ON JANUARY 31. PARTICIPANTS WILL MEET ON TWO FRIDAYS, APRIL 4 AND 25, FROM 5-7PM. DEPART ON MAY 12, RETURN ON MAY 18.
