Core Academic Skills: Problem Solving and Quantitative
Concepts  and methods concerning the use of computer-bases systems in business and other aspects of society, including communciation technologies and the sciences.  Several microcomputer applications      will be introduced in a hands-on, laboratory setting, including electronic spreadsheets, database managers,  e-mail, the internet, and the World Wide Web.

This course covers the history, structure, and services provided by the Internet and looks at its most popular service, the World Wide Web. The language of Web pages, HTML, is studied as well as design techniques employed by successful Web Pages and Web Sites.  MS FrontPage is covered as a development tool for the creation of Web Pages.

Core Academic Skills: Problem Solving and Quantitative
A survey of the field of computer science including a study of the design of computer programs.  Programming techniques are covered and the common logic patterns sequence, selection  (branching), looping and modularization will be covered in detail.  These logical patterns will be applied to algorithms common to many complex problems.
