Outlook Live E-Mail for B-W Students

B-W students use Microsoft “Outlook Live” as their e-mail client. To access student e-mail, go to: http://outlook.com.  The first time you access your Outlook Live e-mail account, you will be required to change your password from the default password assigned during network creation to a password of your choice. This process will then activate your account.

NOTE:
Changing your B-W Password will be a global change for all of the accounts and facilities you need to access, such as:
  • Blackboard
  • WebExpress
  • Outlook Live E-Mail
  • Campus Computer Labs
  • Wireless Service
This process takes one minute to take effect.

Click here to change your password and activate your Outlook Live Account now.

The following guidelines should be used when creating a "strong" password in Outlook Live:

  • Passwords are case-sensitive; they can contain both uppercase and lowercase letters.
  • Passwords can contain numbers.
  • Passwords can contain these ASCII text characters: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : “ ; ‘ < > ? / , .
  • Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length and no more than 16 characters long.
  • Passwords cannot contain spaces.
  • Passwords cannot contain any non-English characters.
  • Your User Name cannot be part of the Password. (Example: Emily King’s User Name of “eking09” cannot be used as any part of the password for her account.)
  • Your password cannot be the same as the answer to the secret question asked during a password re-set. (Example: If the Outlook Live ID secret question is your Mother’s Birthplace and the answer is “Seattle,” the password cannot contain the word Seattle in it (upper OR lower case).
It is critical that you log off of a campus lab computer after using it so that no one else will have access to your account. To log off, either choose “Log Off” after clicking on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your screen, or press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and select the “Log Off” option.
