Faculty and Staff members are able to post announcements to the BW community by using electronic mailing lists and discussion boards intended for mass distribution. Messages issued via any of these electronic communication sources fall under the guidelines stated in the Community Standards of Conduct policy. Under no circumstances should any BW distribution source be taken advantage of for messages contradictory to the expectations of appropriate conduct outlined in this policy.
To send or post a message to faculty and staff members, three options are available:
This distribution list is for messages that are exclusively BW business (such as campus events, announcements, or notices). It is mandatory that all faculty and staff receive these messages. *
This distribution list is for messages that are of a personal nature such as congratulations, sympathy, or personal items for sale (exclusively items owned by BW employees). This list is optional; faculty and staff members who do not wish to receive these messages should contact the HelpDesk to be removed from distribution. This is not an editorial forum.
* Some examples of items that are inappropriate for either BW-Info or BW-Personal are:
- Announcements for events sponsored by non-BW organizations
- Services or items for sale by someone other than BW employees
- Products or services sold in a side business (real estate, beauty products, etc.)
Faculty and staff each have their own distribution list, as well:
This list is distributed to all faculty members (and select administrators) for announcements pertaining exclusively to faculty. The recipients of this distribution are the only ones eligible to post messages to the list. It is mandatory that all faculty receive these announcements.

To send a message to students, there is a bi-weekly bulletin that is sent out by the HelpDesk:
Messages are collected and posted in digest format on Mondays and Thursdays. Email must be received by 9:00 a.m. to be included in the bulletin that day. Event announcements must be from a BW office or a recognized student organization. NO PERSONAL ADVERTISING is accepted. It is mandatory that all students receive these announcements.
Note: To reduce the number of redundant messages and increase readership, please double-check that all pertinent details are included and verify information accuracy (date, time, etc.) prior to sending.
