Video Purchases

The Media Services Department maintains an extensive in-house video library. A list of current holdings is available in the office or on-line Videos are loaned for one week unless alternate arrangements are made. Faculty, staff, and students are free to borrow these tapes for academic use.

Faculty/staff members may request the purchase of videos they believe would be valuable additions to the video library. Requests for the purchase of such materials should be submitted in writing to the Media Services Department. Please provide catalogues and/or order forms when available. Purchase of program materials is subject to budget limitations; however, the Media Services Department will strive to honor all requests for videos that will be useful in courses. Priority will be given to those tapes that will be used repeatedly in the coming years.

There is no charge for video loan, purchase, or recording, with the following exceptions: Administrative or non-teaching departments requesting off-air taping of any satellite program will be responsible for paying licensing fees unless review of the request indicates such taping will have academic applications. Late fees (assessed by lenders when borrowed videos are not returned to the Media Services Department by the specified due date) will be charged to the borrowing department. In the event a loaned video is lost, Media Services will charge the borrowing department for the full replacement cost.
