The Baldwin-Wallace College Computer HelpDesk, located at 20 Beech Street on south campus, functions as a support center for all technology-related questions, issues, or problems experienced by members of the B-W community.  It is the mission of the B-W HelpDesk to provide assistance that is prompt, comprehensive and professional.  Whether you are experiencing a technology-related problem or merely have a simple computing question, please do not hesitate to call the HelpDesk at (440) 826-7000 (on campus, dial extension 7000).  Our knowledgeable staff trouble-shooters will be happy to assist you.

The following is a list of some of the routine services provided by the HelpDesk:

Network Connectivity: The HelpDesk guarantees that all faculty and staff will have a connection to the Baldwin-Wallace College computing network via the campus-owned computer issued to them.  For students, the HelpDesk guarantees full connectivity to the network in classrooms and computing labs as well as a live connection to the network via the port in each residence hall room.  Please note that the HelpDesk is only responsible for port connectivity in residence halls and not the operation of individual student-owned computers.

Network Accounts: The B-W HelpDesk guarantees that all faculty, staff, and students will have a functioning account that can be utilized for all Baldwin-Wallace information systems (Webmail, Blackboard, WebExpress, Windows, etc.).

Computer Hardware: The B-W HelpDesk is responsible for maintaining the operation and functionality of all campus-owned technology hardware used on campus, such as computers, printers, scanners, projectors, media carts, etc.  The HelpDesk should be notified immediately for any college-owned equipment that is in need of service or repair.

Computer Software: The HelpDesk is responsible for the operation and integrity of all campus-owned software that is installed on campus-owned computers, servers, and systems.  The HelpDesk is not responsible for having full knowledge or the ability to answer all questions related to the operation or functionality of specific software applications.

Repair Services for Non-BW (personally-owned) Computers:  For a fee, the HelpDesk provides the following repair services to B-W students:

  • System/software reconfiguration in order to successfully access the B-W Wireless Network
  • Backup and reloading of operating systems (owner must possess original software disks)
  • Scan and removal of harmful viruses and spyware
