Lauren Bara, CNP, Director
Graduate of Oberlin College and Lorain Community College. Trained as an Ob/Gyn Nurse Practitioner through Planned Parenthood/ University of Wisconsin. She is certified as a College Health Nurse and certified by the State of Ohio as an Advanced Practice Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner. Lauren's area of expertise is sexual health and she sees patients at the Health Center for gynecological exams, birth control, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, and HIV testing in addition to seeing patients for illness and injury. She enjoys working with college students and strives to involve them in their own health care. Lauren occasionally gives talks on campus, in residence halls and in classrooms and feels health education is an important part of health care. In her free time Lauren is an avid gardener and mystery reader. Also a pet lover, she has two cats .
Dr. Abdallah, Medical Director
Dr. Abdallah completed his undergraduate degree at Baldwin Wallace University. In 1997 he graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. His residency training was at University Hospital in 2000. Dr. Abadallah is a chairman of Family Medicine and board certified. He is a member of Southwest Family Physicians. His wife is also a family practice physician and they have 4 beautiful daughters. In his free time he enjoys being with his family and skiing.
Julie Dailey, RN ,BA, Office Manager Graduate of Baldwin Wallace University and Fairview General Hospital School of Nursing. Along with working at BW, Julie also works at Fairview Hospital as a Pediatric Nurse. She is a proud mother of two daughters and two sons. Her hobbies include being outdoors, scrapbooking, reading mysteries, biking and traveling.
Richard McBurney, M.D. Dr. McBurney completed his undergraduate studies at Denison University and is a graduate of Case Western Reserve Medical School. He has been with the Health Center at Baldwin Wallace University since 1980 and is a member of Southwest Family Physicians. He is board certified in Family Medicine. His hobbies include: radio controlled airplane flying, competitive swimming and caring for his two dogs "Cassie Clowning Around" and "Copper O'Cassie McKeal". He has been an All American Swimmer four times and a swim coach at Denison University.
Sheila Schnear, RNC, BA My name is Sheila and work as a registered nurse here at BW health center. I really like my job and find working with the college age population enjoyable and keeps me young at heart. I am proud to be a BW alum. I work at the health center 32 hours a week, but in my spare time you will find me outside in the garden or walking. When it is cold outside you will find me curled up with a book. My job here at the health center is to keep you healthy or get you better when you are ill. I think you will find the health center user friendly and the staff welcoming. Good Luck at BW!
JoAnn Woresencroft, RNC
Graduate of Akron General Medical Center School of Nursing. She enjoys working with college-age students. She makes humor a part of each day. Her interests include reading mysteries and romance novels, gardening, church activities, needlework, and her investments club. Her passions are quilting and enjoying her grandchildren. JoAnn is the proud mother of four boys and five grandchildren.
