Exam Accommodations: Rules and Regulations
Students with disabilities who are eligible for testing accommodations may request their tests be proctored at the Learning Center (if disability documentation warrants such an accommodation). However, such requests must be made to the DSS office or the LC in advance of the date of the scheduled exam. At the discretion of each instructor, the arrangements to take a test at the Learning Center are made jointly by the student making the request and the instructor. Same day requests to take an exam in the Learning Center will not be approved.
If a student's request to take an exam at the Learning Center has been approved, students must abide by the following rules:
- No breaks will be honored during exams unless arrangements are made in advance with the professor.
- All exams will occur at the scheduled time for class unless arrangements are made in advance with the professor.
- No bags, books, purses, coats, pagers, cell phones, CD players, tape players, IPods or MP3 players or drinks will be allowed in the testing area. A secure place will be provided for students to store personal items until the exam is over.
- Students only will be allowed to use scrap paper provided by the DSS office.
- The time for the exam will be strictly enforced. Students must finish within the time frames commensurate with approved accommodations. There are NO exams with unlimited time.
- Students who wish to take their exam in the Learning Center must complete the test request link (it is found under our BE SMART tab in Blackboard) in a timely manner.
