Description - Hanson Hall is being converted into the Harding Sustainability House. This house will be designed to accommodate Green Living Space.
R. Amelia Harding House for Sustainable Living will offer a shared community to students with a mind towards reducing their environmental footprint. From the building's design using environmentally sound materials and techniques, to the lifestyle of the residents including a garden, indoor bike storage and a shared commitment towards sustainable living, this building will offer a supportive community to its residents.
Current plans for Harding include energy use monitoring that residents can see, an indoor bike storage facility to encourage bike riding instead of driving, a partially vegetative roof, and building materials and design that will allow for LEED Certification.
