Connecting to BW

As your student begins college at BW, it is likely you'll have questions about campus life, programs and protocol. The BW website is an excellent place to start.

Within the BW website, you can navigate to a variety of administrative, academic, student life and athletic areas.

One area you might want to bookmark is Campus Resources. This page includes a quick scan listing of important administrative offices with corresponding phone numbers and BW Web links.  Highlighted below are other popular links. 

Administrative

Safety & Security:  Description of programs, including escort service and vehicle assists, plus crime prevention advice.
Student Employment Center:  Valuable information about employment opportunities and protocol that can help students fund their college education.
Financial Aid Office:  Beyond being a resource center, the Financial Aid Office has counselors that can answer questions and guide students through the steps of funding a BW education. Visit the website for important forms, tuition figures and other information.
Bursar's Office:  Handles bill payments, student health insurance waiver information and more. Parents have 24/7 access to their student's billing account.

Student Life

Residence Life: Explanation of the benefits of campus living, including information about residence halls and special interest housing like the Carmel Living/Learning Center.
Greek Life : Details about fraternities/sororities and their focus on scholarship, friendship, service and fun.

Academics

BW's Web-based registration system makes course information available to your student around the clock.  This listing is useful both at registration time and when your student is considering future course choices. 
Course Schedules:  Listing of past, current and upcoming course offerings.
Learning Center:  Information about programs, including tutoring and study skill courses, that can help students succeed. 
Writing Lab:  Professional tutors can help on a one-time or continuing basis with anything from generating a thesis to developing and organizing ideas to providing guidance regarding documentation, style, and mechanics.
Academic Advising:  Every student is advised by a faculty member in his/her major. Services range from help in selecting a major to interacting with advisors to plan educational, career and personal goals.

Career Services: A key area for all students, Career Services offers freshmen opportunities to explore their career interests with regard to selecting majors and minors. 

Athletics
For 30 percent of the students, athletics plays a key role in their college experience.  The BW Athletics website lists upcoming events, recaps competitions and offers links to webcast and radio coverage of games.
