An Evening of Vinyl and All Things Bowie
Audiences will be immersed in Bowie's music and legacy at BW's Conservatory of Music on October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Gamble Auditorium. Cool Cleveland’s Thomas Mulready will deliver the free multimedia presentation focusing on Bowie’s groundbreaking career in music, theater, film & fashion.
Featuring a high fidelity turntable, the presentation also will demonstrate the differences between digital and analog audio and encourage focused listening with needle drops on various albums released throughout Bowie’s career, such as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, The Spiders From Mars and his new album, The Next Day.
"Our students and faculty bring such diverse and rich musical perspectives to the BW community." said Susan Van Vorst, Director of BW's highly regarded Conservatory. "This program provides a unique opportunity to explore the career of an iconic artist through the lens of the recording industry. I anticipate that a broad cross section of our community will be intrigued."
The event is open to the general public. Mulready encourages attendees to "BYOE - bring your own ears." Read more about the Vinyl Listening Party at Cool Cleveland.com.
