Different Dances: Faculty Recital Featuring Mary Dobrea-Grindahl, piano

The Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music presents "Different Dances," featuring Mary Dobrea-Grindahl, piano, on Sunday, February 12 at 4 p.m. in the Kulas Musical Arts Building, 96 Front Street, Berea. The concert is free and open to the public.

The recital is a program of piano music inspired by dance, featuring French and Spanish artists such as Rodrigo, Debussy, Albeniz, Milhaud, Rave, and de Falla.

Dobrea-Grindahl, professor of piano at B-W is an active clinician and presenter of workshops and seminars that emphasize using Eurhythmics to develop artistry at the keyboard throughout the United States, and has taught Eurhythmics in Switzerland and Spain. Mary performs regularly as a solo and collaborative artist. In addition to her performing career, Mary is also developing an interactive CD-Rom designed to develop sight-reading skills for pianists at all levels, and is coauthor of a solfège text, Developing Musicianship Through Ear Training. Mary serves as an adjudicator for music festivals and competitions throughout the state, is currently chair of Collegiate Chapters for OhioMTA, and is a recipient of the prestigious Strosacker Prize for Excellence in Teaching at Baldwin-Wallace College.
