Academic Program

"While academic advising is a process of communication and information exchange between student and advisor, the ultimate responsibility for program, course selection, and meeting graduation requirements rests with the student." - University Catalog

Understanding your program requirements is crucial.  Academic advisors are a wonderful resource for helping you navigate the quickest route to your educational goals.

To schedule an appointment with an academic advisor, you can request an advising appointment here or  call 440-826-2121.  All students must meet with an advisor before registering for their first semester of classes at BW.  In subsequent semesters, you will register yourself online; however, you are encouraged to meet regularly with your advisor to help ensure that you are making optimal course choices.

During this first advising appointment, your academic advisor will review your intended academic program, including your transfer credits and remaining coursework.  To prepare for the appointment, please:

  • Look over your Academic Evaluation (EVAL), which will be mailed to you after your transfer evaluation is complete.  You can also access this document through WebExpress under the heading My Graduation Plan.
  • Make a list of any questions or concerns that you have.

At this first meeting, you'll be released for registration and will walk away with a copy of your first semester schedule.

Be sure to monitor your EVAL each time you register to ensure your courses fulfill the requirements you intend.
