Dear Friends,
It is as true today as it was in 1845; Baldwin-Wallace College exists for the purpose of enhancing and, in fact, transforming the lives of the students here. Many of you have told me of the ways that people here recognized your potential and encouraged, prodded, mentored or even cajoled you to achievements beyond your own aspirations.
Today we continue to work in purposeful ways to involve our students in connecting the strengths of their learning inside our classrooms and other campus activities with their thinking and planning about life after graduation. In addition to high quality classroom experiences providing them with the skills to succeed, they are purposefully engaged in opportunities such as internships, off-campus and international study, community service and both independent and shared research. We also nurture personal growth and develop leadership through a vast array of social, pre-professional, athletic, religious and co-curricular activities. And, of course, there remains the personalized approach to education that exists between a student and his or her faculty mentor.
These opportunities add up to a distinctive Baldwin-Wallace educational experience and come with a cost that is not fully covered by income from tuition dollars. The strong, ongoing support of our alumni and friends is vital to bridging that gap. You will find included in this report the names of people who have tangibly expressed their commitment to our mission of helping our students become the “contributing, compassionate citizens” that society so needs by contributing to scholarships, facilities and programs at B-W.
Through your gifts to Baldwin-Wallace College you are making a very real difference in helping to transform the lives of students. We are so grateful for your belief in our mission and your willingness to help. I am so grateful to all of you, thanks.
