2013-14 Summer Aid Application for Dependent Students Only

This form should be completed by DEPENDENT (undergraduate) students only.


Graduate and post-baccalaureate students can include Summer 2013 enrollment plans on the 2013-14 Enrollment Worksheet for Independent Students ( www.bw.edu/finaid/forms ).

Summer financial aid consists of state and federal aid only, for eligible students based on the 2013-2014 FAFSA. BW merit scholarships, grants, special awards, and named scholarships are not available for use in summer terms, unless notified otherwise.  

If you file your FAFSA as an independent student, DO NOT submit this application. You can report your Summer 2013 enrollment on your 2013-14 enrollment worksheet.

If you are taking classes at another institution, you are considered a transient student. Transient students must be enrolled for at least 6 BW credits in order to be eligible for financial aid for the Summer term. Please refer to our Transient Student Policy located on the Transient Ad Hoc Consortium Agreement Form - #14 on our website (www.bw.edu/finaid/forms) for more information.

A statement about Pell Grant/Ohio College Opportunity Grant Eligiblity: If you are eligible for either of these grants, using the funds during the Summer term will affect the amount available to you during the Fall and/or Spring terms. If you are eligible for Pell/OCOG and you choose to use a portion of your eligibility for summer enrollment, those funds may not be available to you during the Fall/Spring term.

A statement about Federal Student Loan Eligibility: Most students will receive the same amount of Federal Direct Loan(s) for the 2013-2014 academic year, regardless of whether they attend BW in Summer, Fall, and Spring (3 terms) or just Fall and Spring (2 terms). If you choose to use a portion of your Federal loans for classes during the Summer 2013 term, you will not have those funds to use in the Fall and Spring semesters, when your charges may be higher (if you are a full-time student).
