Faculty Recommendations for Named, Academic-Year Scholarships, 2012-2013 AY
 
In additon to the Ovations/Honors Day traditions and awards, BW is fortunate to a have dedicated and growing number of donors who are passionate about helping students attend BW through their endowed scholarships. Many of our Endowed Scholarship Donors also fund Honors Day Awards.
 
As you and your colleagues select student for Honors Day Awards, we ask academic departments and divisions to use this online recommendation form to also identify deserving students who best demonstrate the scholarship attributes you seek in your majors. Faculty recommendations help the Financial Aid Office to better match endowed scholarships with student recipients. You know BW students best from your interactions in the classroom and labs, through meaningful conversation and advising sessions, and through campus and professional organizations.
  • Consult with your departmental colleagues to identify and recommend students returning for 2012-2013, whom you believe demonstrate the scholarship attributes you seek in your majors.
  • Your recommendations, criteria established by donors, and student financial need will be considered by the financial aid team to more efficiently match BW returning students with named, academic-year scholarships for 2012-2013.
  • Nominate as many students as you feel appropriate. You may rank order or simply list in random order. ( If you have more than five student recommendations, you may submit multiple forms.)
  • If your department is already engaged in recommending students for named, academic-year scholarships, the names of those students should be included on this form.
