B-W PLUS Loan

Baldwin-Wallace College is pleased to be able to offer this innovative financing option for the parents of new students entering during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Basic Information About the B-W PLUS Loan

  • The B-W PLUS Loan Program provides interest-free loans of up to $12,000 per year for qualified families. Additional amounts can be borrowed through the unsubsidized B-W PLUS Loan Program for families wishing to finance more than $12,000 per year.
  • The B-W PLUS Loan Program is a federally guaranteed loan offered to parents to help pay for their dependent student’s education. The college will subsidize all, or a portion (if the loan amount exceeds $12,000), of the interest accruing on this loan while the student is attending Baldwin-Wallace as an undergraduate.

How To Apply for the B-W PLUS Loan:

  1. Determine the amount that you wish to borrow. You may borrow up to the Baldwin-Wallace cost of education minus all other financial aid received (and B-W will subsidize the interest up to $12,000). If you've applied for need-based financial aid, your award notice will inform you of the maximum amount that you can borrow.  (Since the B-W PLUS Loan is based on the Federal PLUS Loan Program, you should keep in mind that the lender deducts a 3% origination fee from the loan prior to disbursement.)
