Youth Honors Wind Ensemble

Conductor, Laura Joss
Mrs. Joss is currently an assistant professor at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music where she serves as the chair of the Music Education Department and teaches Introduction to Music Education, Instrumental Music Methods and Senior Seminar. She is active both nationally and internationally as an adjudicator, music education consultant and clinician.

For students grades 6 through 12
Our Youth Honors Wind Ensemble Program for woodwind, brass and percussionists, provides talented young musicians with opportunities to expand and strengthen their musical skills and knowledge. The ensembles are designed to be supplemental to area school programs, and it is expected that all members play in their own school ensembles, where they exist. In addition, members are encouraged to participate in as many school musical activities as possible to increase their playing experience. New members are accepted each September and January. This is the first wind ensemble program in Northeastern Ohio that targets this specific age group.

A note from a Wind Ensemble parent

"I just paid the invoice for the Youth Wind Ensemble and I have to say it was the best investment I've had in a long time! My daughter played flute in symphonic winds. She was challenged by the music, learned so much and loved it. I'm sure it was a factor that helped her make it into our high school's Wind Ensemble next year as a freshman. Thank you and your great staff for doing such a fantastic job!"
