Private Lessons

Age Requirements for Private Lessons:

  • Suzuki Violin: 4 years or older
  • Traditional Strings: 6 years or older
  • Piano: 5 years or older - Must have piano at home to practice
  • Classical Guitar: 6 years or older
  • Voice: 15 years or older
  • Woodwinds: 10 years or older
  • Brass: 10 years or older
  • Harp: 2 years of piano study - Must have access to harp (owned or rented)

Private instruction is available with members of the Conservatory faculty, Conservatory Outreach Faculty and student teachers. Call (440) 826-2365 or email conreach@bw.edu for teacher recommendations.

Cost:

  • Faculty fees are $14 - $35 per half-hour private lesson (15-week fall and spring semesters and a flexible summer semester).
  • Student teacher fees are $12 per half-hour private lesson (12-week fall and spring semesters and a flexible summer semester)
  • There is a $15 per student, per year registration fee that is re-assessed each fall semester

(45 and 60-minute private lessons are also available)

Conservatory Outreach recitals are scheduled in the Fall and Spring semesters and are open to any current private lesson student.  Talk with your teacher about signing up to perform at an upcoming 2015-2016 recital:

  • Saturday, October 17 – 2 pm
  • Saturday, November 21 – 2 pm
  • Saturday, November 21 –  4 pm
  • Sunday, March 27 – 4 pm
  • Saturday, April 30 – 2 pm
  • Saturday, April 30 – 4 pm
