Dalcroze Eurhythmics for Children: A Whole‐Body Musical Experience
New Instructor, Laura Simna
For Children Ages 3 to 8
A whole body musical experience! Running, clapping, skipping and swinging are used to explore all aspects of musical expression. This class helps develop a strong foundation to your child’s musical growth.
Children respond to music from their very earliest days. Dalcroze Eurythmics is a way to build on a child's natural musical responses and incorporate learning as play. Through musical exercises children develop coordination, listening ability, and musical expression. Children who begin with Dalcroze can move easily into other music studies such as Suzuki or conventional music instruction. Older children learn intervals, chord structures and basic composition‐all in the context of "playing with music." These classes allow the student to grow into music education and are recommended as a stepping-stone and compliment to learning an instrument.
Music+Rhythm+Movement is an independent learning program, allowing students the space they need to express their individuality through music and movement. Parents of children age 3 may be requested to attend the first few sessions to assist their children in making the adjustment to a new experience.
