STEP 1:

KNOW YOURSELF

Knowing yourself is an ongoing process. The experiences you have and the knowledge and skills you gain will shape who you are and where you go. Here are some ways/tools to help you:

STEP 2:

 

BE ENGAGED

  • Take advantage of your time in the classroom. Participate, ask questions, share your thoughts. Doing this will broaden your learning experience.
  • Become part of the B-W community and develop your leadership skills by participating in clubs, organizations and activities.
  • Engage yourself in the Community by becoming a volunteer.
  • Participate in intercollegiate and/or Intramural Sports to enhance your teamwork skills and work ethic.
  • show your willingness to explore another culture by studying abroad.
 

STEP 3:

GET EXPERIENCE

  • Seek informational interviews
  • Shadow professionals on the job
  • Volunteer in areas of interest
  • Pursue internships and other experiential opportunities both on and off campus
 

STEP 4:

MARKET YOURSELF

  • Connect with professionals and expand your network
  • Build a resume tailored to your specific goal
  • Create a cover letter that sets you apart
  • Seal the deal in the interview
 

STEP 5:

PURSUE YOUR NEXT DESTINATION

  • Full-time Job
  • Graduate School
  • Post-graduate Opportunities (Peace Corps, Teaching English as a second language, Military service)
