World Music Series: Yume Daiko
The bold and dramatic sound of taiko comes to life as Yume Daiko brings this powerful story-telling art to campus with complex rhythms and resonating style. To listeners worldwide, taiko (which means drum in Japanese) is an experience that is felt as much as it's heard. Under the direction of Matt Richards, who studied and performed this taiko during the 15 years he lived in Japan, Yume Daiko is an ensemble of musicians dedicated to the Japanese music tradition.
