Yellow Jacket Women's Tennis Team Beats Seton Hill (Pa.) College, 9-0, for its
Second Spring Trip Win in Hilton Head, South Carolina
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women’s tennis team defeated Seton Hill (Pa.) College, 9-0, this evening (Tuesday, March 7) on its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. It was the second victory of the season for the Yellow Jackets.
The win improves the Yellow Jackets to 2-3 overall, including 2-2 on the trip. This morning, BW defeated Ithaca (N.Y.) College, 5-4.in Hilton Head.
In singles play, BW received straight set wins from junior number one singles player Andrea Isaac (New Philadelphia), sophomore No. 2 player Tiffany Allison (Chagrin Falls/ Kenston), sophomore No. 3 player Meggie Glassburn (Canton/ Jackson), freshman No. 5 player Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and junior No. 6 player Mary Katherine-Stahura (North Canton/ Hoover). Senior No. 4 player Elizabeth Moore (Huron) won in three sets.
In doubles play, the No.1 duo of Isaac and Glassburn, the No.2 tandem of Allison and Marshall and the No.3 duo of Moore and Trampert swept Seton Hill and gave BW a 3-0 lead heading into the singles matches.
The Yellow Jacket women will back in action on Thursday, March 9 when they play NCAA Division II Lenior Rhyne (N.C.) College in Hilton Head at 9:00 a.m. and then face St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College at 4:00 p.m. in the final match of its trip.
