Yellow Jacket Women's Tennis Team Loses to Malone College, 5-4, in a
Nonleague Match in Canton Ending Five-Game Winning Streak
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women’s tennis team lost to nonleague rival Malone College, 5-4, today (Saturday, March 18) at the Canton Hall of Fame and Racquet Club. The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Yellow Jackets.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 5-4 overall. Malone improves to 4-5 overall with its win.
In singles play, BW posted wins from junior number one singles player Andrea Isaac (New Philadelphia), sophomore No.2 player Meggie Glassburn (Canton/ Jackson) and sophomore No. 3 player Krista Marshall (Medina/ Senior). In doubles play, the No.1 duo of Isaac and Glassburn recorded the only win for the Yellow Jackets as BW would trail 2-1 heading into the singles matches.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday March 25, when its hosts Ohio Athletic Conference rival Mount Union College in Berea at The "Pop" Collins Tennis Center at 1:00 p.m. BW is already 1-0 in OAC play as it defeated Muskingum College, 9-0, on March 14 in Berea.
