The Yellow Jacket Women's Tennis Team Loses, 7-2, to Otterbein

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Otterbein College, 7-2, today (Monday, April 12, 2004) in a match that began at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Courts in Berea and ended at the BW Recreation Center for singles matches. With its loss, BW falls to 6-12 overall and 3-4 in the OAC. With its win, Otterbein is now 9-5 overall and 5-1 in the OAC.

In singles play, freshman number one singles player Andrea Isaac (New Philadelphia) defeated Otterbein's Erin Moriarty, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, and is now unbeaten in OAC play at number one singles at 7-0. In addition, Isaac won her 16th match in a row in improving to 17-1 overall.

In doubles play at "Pop" Collins, the No.1 duo of senior Sarah Juzwik (Ashland Senior) and Isaac won the other match for the Yellow Jackets with an 8-6 victory against Moriarty and Otterbein's No.2 player Kelly Shiedlds. Juzwik and Isaac are now 11-5 at No.1 doubles.

The Yellow Jacket women will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13 when they host Ohio Athletic Conference rival Capital University either at the "Pop" Collins Courts or possibly at the BW Rec Center. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
