BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s soccer team was defeated by NAIA foe Notre Dame (Ohio) College, 3-2, today (Sept. 21) in South Euclid, Ohio.
With the loss, the Yellow Jacket women are now 4-3 overall. With its win, Notre Dames moves to 3-4 overall.
B-W was the first to score when junior midfielder Allie Wojkun (North Olmstead/Magnificat) found the goal at the 11:15 mark.
Notre Dame would then tie the game and then take the lead with two goals from Stephanie Svoboda at the 13:00 and 37:00 mark in the first half.
Then Wojkun scored again at the 73:00 mark to tie the game at 2-2.
Notre Dame’s Breanne Hunter then took a pass from Svoboda and scored the game-winning goal at the 88:00 mark.
Junior 2005 OAC Goalkeeper of the Year Michelle Neff (Strongsville) played the entire game for B-W, facing 13 shots and allowing three goals. She also made 10 saves.
The next Yellow Jacket women's soccer game is on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they host Defiance College in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader. The women play at 5:00 p.m. and the men kickoff at 7 p.m.
