The Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Soccer Team Drops a 1-0 OAC

Decision to First Place Capital University at Finnie Stadium in Berea

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference decision tonight (Oct. 19) to first place Capital University on the turf at The George Finnie Stadium.

The loss was B-W's fourth straight as the Yellow Jackets dropped to 10-6-1 overall and 2-4 in the OAC. With its win, Capital remains in first place in the OAC at 4-0-1 and improves its overall slate to 6-9-1.

The Crusaders scored the only goal of the game at the 24:17 mark of the first half when freshman Kara Martin found the back of the net.

In goal, sophomore Michelle Neff (Strongsville) faced eight shots on goal and had seven saves.

After 17 games, Jenny Miller(North Ridgeville) tops the team in scoring with 11 goals and 5 assists for 27 points.

B-W will be back in action on Saturday, October 23 when it hosts OAC foe Marietta College in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader at Finnie Stadium. The men's game begins at 7:00 p.m. In addition that day, the Yellow Jacket volleyball team, 17-9 overall and 5-2 in the OAC, plays host to Muskingum College at 1:00 p.m. and the seventh-ranked B-W football team, 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the OAC, hosts ninth-ranked Capital at 1:30 p.m.
