With their win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-1 overall and next play at Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday, Sept. 13 game at 3:00 p.m. The 2006 home opener for B-W is on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m. against Case Western Reserve University.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first six minutes, B-W tied the score at 1-1 at the 12:49 mark when senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Jenny Miller (North Ridgeville) scored her 31st career goal on an unassisted tally. The score remained 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, B-W then took at 2-1 lead at the 50:06 mark when junior midfielder Brittan Davis (Poland/ Seminary) scored an unassisted goal.
Then following an Adrian game-tying goal at the 60:49 mark, junior Allie Wojtkun (North Olmsted/ Magnificat) scored the game-winner, the first of her Yellow Jacket career, at the 64:59 mark with an assist from All-OAC midfielder Ashley Belardo (North Ridgeville). Wojtkun played the ball from five yards out and beat AC keeper Amanda House.
In goal, junior 2005 OAC Goalie of the Year Michelle Neff (Strongsville) earned the win as she faced nine total shots, all on goal, and made seven saves.
