Baldwin-Wallace College Women’s Soccer Team Falls to Case Western, 2-1, In Double Overtime

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s soccer team was defeated by Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve, 2-1 in double overtime, tonight (Tuesday, September 20) in a non-conference match on the Tressel Field at the George Finnie Stadium.
With the loss, B-W snapped a two-game winning streak and fell to 4-3 on the season. With the victory, the Spartans improved to 5-1-1 overall
Case jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage when Devyn Lee’s initial shot was blocked by a Yellow Jacket defender and buried her second shot into the back of the net at the 9:59 mark of the first half.
The Spartans won the game when Kendra Simmons headed in the corner kick from Deena Levey at 107:02 of the second overtime.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to take the Titans of Westminster College in the second game of a men’s and women’s soccer doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. B-W will return to the friendly confines of the Tressel Field pitch at the George Finnie Stadium on Tuesday, September 27 when it plays host to St. Vincent (Pa.) College in the first game of a men’s and women’s soccer doubleheader at 4:30 p.m.
