BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team closed out the regular season tonight (Friday, October 26, 2007) with a, 3-0, loss to Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
With the loss, the Yellow Jacket women fall to 11-5-3 overall and 5-1-3 in the OAC . With the win, Wilmington improves to 12-5-2 overall and 5-3-1 in the OAC.
Wilmington won the battle of shots, 17-6 and corner kicks, 6-2.
At halftime Wilmington led, 1-0, when Kristen Elam scored unassisted at the 23:45 mark.
In the second half, the Quakers increased their lead to 2-0 at the 55:45 mark when Alex Hesson scored off an assist from Brittney Fey and then added an insurance goal at the 82:22 mark to lead 3-0 when Jackie Borda scored off an Elam assist.
In goal, senior two-time All-OAC player Michelle Neff (Strongsville) played all 90 minutes and recored eight saves while giving up three goals.
B-W will either be the No. 3 or No. 4 seed in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament depending on the outcome of tomorrow's Otterbein versus Muskingum match-up. The full tournament bracket should be available Saturday (Oct. 27) evening on the OAC Web site www.oac.org.
