Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Soccer Team Defeats Ursline College, 2-0, For Third Straight Shutout

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team defeated Ursline College, 2-0, in Pepper Pike, Ohio for its third straight shutout.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve their record to 4-2 overall and with the loss the Arrows fall to 1-5 overall. B-W won the battle of shots 8-5 and tied on corners 4-4.

In the first half, freshman midfielder Jessica Poiner (Stow/Stow-Monroe Falls) scored in the third minute off an assist from fellow freshman midfielder Linsey Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/South) to give B-W a 1-0 lead. 

In the second half, Poiner found the back of the net for the second time off a pass from sophmore midfielder Tyler Fridley (Niles/McKinley) in the 82nd minute.

In goal, senior Michelle Neff (Strongville) played all 90 minutes and earned her third shutout as she had four saves.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, September 22 2007, when they travel to University Circle to take on Case Western Reserve University at 7:00 pm.
