BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team defeated traditional rival Oberlin College, 1-0, tonight (September 12, 2007) Oberlin.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-2 overall. With the loss, Oberlin falls to 2-2-1.
B-W won the battle of shots, 13-6, and corners, 5-1.
After a scoreless first half B-W got on the scoreboard when freshman midfielder Linsey Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/South) scored in the 61st minute off an assist from senior midfielder Brittan Davis (Poland/ Poland Seminary). The goal ended up being the game winning goal as both teams couldn't find the goal over the following 29 mintues
In goal, senior Michelle Neff (Strongsville) played all 90 minutes and earned her second straight shutout.
B-W will return to action tomorrow (Sept. 13) when it travels to Pepper Pike, Ohio for a 4:30 p.m. game with Ursuline College. Following tomorrow's game, the Yellow Jackets will remain in the Greater Cleveland area as they travel to University Circle to play Case Western Reserve University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 15).
