Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Soccer Team Loses to Ohio Northern, 1-0

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern University, 1-0, tonight (Wednesday, October 25) at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.

With their loss, the Yellow Jackets are now 10-7 overall and 4-4 in the OAC, and must beat Wilmington College on Saturday (Oct. 28) in their regular season finale to have a shot at earning a spot in the season-ending OAC Tournament which begins next Tuesday (Oct. 31). In addition to having to beat Wilmington, Marietta College would have to either lose or tie in its season finale against John Carroll University.  Saturday night's Yellow Jacket game at Finnie is Seniors' Night and kicks off at 7:00 p.m.  With its win, ONU is now 12-3-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the OAC and has clinched a spot in the tournament.

The Polar Bears scored the only goal of the game at the 24:03 mark when freshman midfielder Angie Pisut found the upper left corner of the net following an assist from senior forward Diana Smith. In goal, junior Barbie Krieger faced one Yellow Jacket shot and recorded her fifth shutout of the season.  The Polar Bears also won the battle in shots, 15-1, and in corner kicks, 2-1.

In goal and despite suffering a loss, junior 2005 OAC Goalie of the Year Michelle Neff (Strongsville) faced 15 Polar Bear shots, allowed the lone goal and made six saves.

Despite its loss to ONU, the Yellow Jacket women are having another outstanding season. B-W has already clinched its third straight 10-win or more season and is 33-21-4 in the past three seasons.
