BEXLEY, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team dropped its first Ohio Atheltic Conference game of the season when it lost today, (Saturday, October 7, 2006) when it lost to Capital University, 2-1, at Bernloher Stadium in Bexley .
With their loss, the Yellow-Jackets fall to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the OAC. With its win, Capital improves to 7-6-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the OAC.
Capital got on the scoreboard early in the first half when Kara Martin scored at the 10:33 mark. The Yellow Jackets tied the game at the 29:01 mark when senior forward Jenny Miller (North Ridgeville) tallied an unassisted goal. The game remained tied at halftime, 1-1.
In the second half, Capital scored what would prove to be the game winning goal when Natasha Ballard scored at the 80:50 mark.
Capital dominated the contest and out shot the Yellow Jackets, 20-5, and shut out the Yellow Jackets in corner kicks, 4-0.
In goal, B-W junior Michelle Neff (Strongsville) played all 90 minutes, faced 20 shots, including 11 on-goal, allowed two goals, and made nine saves.
The Yellow Jacket women next will play on Wednesday, October 11, when they travel to Tiffin, to play OAC rival Heidelberg College at 4:00 p.m.
