Baldwin-Wallace College Standouts Geiger and Wojtkun Named to 2008 All-OAC Women’s Soccer Team

Baldwin-Wallace College junior midfielder Stephanie Geiger (Berea) and senior midfielder Allie Wojtkun (North Olmsted/Magnificat) were selected to the 2008 All-Ohio Athletic Conference women’s soccer team,  released today (Wednesday, November 12, 2008). Geiger was chosen to the first-team and Wojtkun was tabbed an honorable mention selection.

Geiger, now a two-time first-team all-conference pick,  scored two game-winners  in 2008 and helped lead the Yellow Jacket defense to post five shutouts and a 1.07 goals-against-average.  Geiger was also named a 2008 third-team ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV honoree earlier this fall.

Wojtkun,  a second-team All-OAC selection last year,  led B-W with nine points scored on four goals and an assist. She also was named as a first-team ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV selection for the second straight season. She is currently a candidate on the ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-America ballot.  In addition, Wojtkun was named as the OAC Player of the Week on September 21.

The Yellow Jacket women finished the season with a 7-9-3 overall record and qualified for the OAC Tournament.
