Yellow Jackets Senior Defender Katie Demby and Senior Manager Karina Krajec to be Honored Saturday

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College athletic department would like to recognize senior women's soccer player Katie Demby of Westlake and senior manager Karina Krajec of Ashtabula.

During her four years in the women's soccer program, Katie has helped the Yellow Jacket program build a foundation that is yielding success this year and in the future.  This season, Katie has played in all 18 contests at forward and has helped the Yellow Jackets compile an impressive 12-4-2 overall and 4-2-2 OAC record.  During her four-year career, Katie will earn four varisty letters and has been a consistant performer for the Yellow Jackets and saw action at both forward and sweeper.  She saw action from the start, playing in 18 games during the 2002 season, scoring two goals and adding three assists.  During the 2003 season, Katie scored another goal before switching to sweeper and playing defense during the 2004 campaign.  She has enjoyed a terrific senior season scoring a career-high five goals and dishing out a career-high four assists to rank second on the team in scoring.  During her career, Katie has played in 73 games, taken 75 shots, scored eight goals and added seven assists for 23 total points.

In addition to playing soccer, Katie is a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and has been heavily involved on campus.  She has been a member of campus radio station WBWC and campus television BUZZ TV.  Katie is also a member of The International Association of Business Communicators.  She is a communications and public relations major and recently returned from a study abroad experience in Australia.

Karina is a former Yellow Jacket soccer player and has served as the team's manager for the past three seasons.  She is a busiess administration major and an excellent student.  Karina is a member of the Alpha Lambda Freshman Honor Society and is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
